This lamp was made as an exploration into movement and personification. It was designed in reference to the Pixar lamp—the one that jumps on the "i." Through its movement, from forward to back, each position gives the lamp a different feeling.
When bent back, the lamp feels strained, sending light upward or directly into your face. When tilted down, it feels more relaxed, hiding the light from view. The lamp is of course functional, but its movement and adjustability allow it to take on different emotional states, shifting, just subtly the feeling of a space.
